The performances of the international folklore groups are the heart of the folklore festival in our castle town. Since the first Trachtenfest in 1927 more than 60 nations have been guests at the Trachtenfest in the medieval town Schlitzt. This year we will have guests from all over the world. . Locations
At the Trachtenfest the life pulsates at various locations in the medieval town. The festival is celebrated around the historical old town. Party at the marquees, the historical pageant, games and fun for everybody at the amusement park or the dances – everything is located in the center and you don't have to walk more than 500 meters.

The historical parade
A special highlight for the whole family is the great historical parade on Sunday the 09th july 2017, starting at 2 pm. However, you should be early in Schlitz, in order to secure a coveted place on the edges of the roads.

Brass- and Marchingbands
Whether marching, traditional or brass band, whether "Spielmannszug", Fanfare or Show band - there are many names for "brass". And this brass music today is as diverse as all their names. Of traditional marches up to the film music of James Bond these bands are fascinating a wide audience. The Trachtenfest is known for its historical parade where more than 15 bands will participate. We guarantee musical diversity in form of magnificent horns and drummers. A little taste you will find on this page. Musicbands
Also in this year, many bands and music groups of all styles will heat up the vibes at party tents and the open-air stages in the medieval town center. To a total of eight stages, different bands will will from Thursday to Monday. For every taste there will be something, whether rock, pop, ska, salsa, cha cha cha, pop, party, etc. Pay admission once and make party everywhere!
